Exposed brick walls and concrete flooring clash with hip music and fine cuisine in this Upper West Side Thai eatery. In the ever evolving Morningside Heights, Thai Market almost seems out of place with its surrounding neighbors, but quickly answers the question of why this span of Amsterdam Avenue has been attracting so much business. It's hard not to grab a table (or seat at the bar) when you walk past the all-glass floor to ceiling facade. From the huge umbrellas over the bar counter weaved with Christmas lights to the preserved pre-war ceiling architecture, Thai Market is a comfortable and fun place to sit down and enjoy a bowl of Pad Thai. A fairly large menu offers high quality food at a reasonable price, in sleek presentation. With a dose of upbeat atmosphere mixed with a tasteful pinch of modern ambiance, stir fried with peanuts and bok choy, you get Thai Market. Full and satisfied from a spicy meal, this reviewer couldn't find much to complain about, besides a grain of sand in the calamari.
