Water Taxi Beach Review

Reviewed By Simone Morse

Smothering the dance floor and adjacent drinkers is the smells emanating from the barbecue sizzling juicy burgers and toasting buns to a crispy golden hue.

Open air and the open waters of the East River make the Water Taxi Beach party majestic. Manhattan lies on the other side of the river twinkling even without the sun and moon, reflecting itself on the mambo, jazz, swinging, ethnic, and delirious dancers. Smothering the dance floor and adjacent drinkers is the smells emanating from the barbecue sizzling juicy burgers and toasting buns to a crispy golden hue. With classic house music as the acoustic background, the bar tenders quickly feed tasty drinks in front of a nifty selection of half empty bottles- some tinted, some not.

Kid’s are playing at the birthday party being celebrated in a cut off section of the Water Taxi Beach which speaks to how welcoming the party is. Balloons and ribbons decorate the section as old school house music decorates those who grew up in the past time. The plentiful sand the birthday boy plays in is refreshing after the summer of fun. And the heels that upbeat women once wore become a second hand bag like item. Loose toes stretching between the grains of sand is therapeutic. The end of the day is to be relaxing, where the monstrous island to the near side becomes the heavy-duty blanket.
